GENERAL INFORMATION FOR VISITING THE HOOVER DAM
During the busy summer season, June through August, early reservations are recommended for the guided tours. Parking may also be a problem; therefore it is recommended that you use transportation other than a private vehicle for traveling to the dam. The Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge project is complete. (Information about the project is available at www.hooverdambypass.org.) Normally, traffic at Hoover Dam is heaviest between the hours of 10 AM and 6 PM. Motorists should also anticipate heavy traffic during weekends and holidays. Also, extremely heavy traffic can be encountered at the beginning and end of holiday periods. To see everything at the dam it is recommend visitors arrive by 4:00 PM Pedestrians are prohibited from the top of the dam during hours of darkness. NOTE: The tours should NOT be taken by anyone who suffers from claustrophobia or those with a pacemaker or defibrillators.
