Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon West TourA great way to see two major attractions - the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam in 8 hours while traveling by van or SUV. The first stop on the tour will be at Hoover Dam. While on a walking tour the guide will explain the many interesting facts and features of this engineering marvel. Enroute to the Grand Canyon there will be a stop at the Trading Post in Arizona for souvenirs then continuing on with an off road experience through the world famous Joshua Tree Forest. Arriving at Grand Canyon West Indian Country there are two options to continue your tour: Option 1: Scenic Overlook Tour takes
a walk 1/4 mile walk below the canyon rim to spectacular lookouts that
are not crowded and have been preserved to display the canyon's natural
beauty. There is an abundant of information presented during the tour
about Native Americans, nature and Grand Canyon geology. Going into
the canyon gives new meaning to what "grand" means while visiting
the Grand Canyon. (A deli lunch is provided.) Option 2: Indian Bus Tour travels
4.5 miles on the canyon rim with an Indian Guide to explain what their
canyon was like in the days of their ancestors. A fresh understanding
of our American Indians, their pride, their gentleness, their harmony
with nature imparts new meaning about their culture and leaves you with
a memory of the Grand Canyon in your heart forever. (An Indian BBQ lunch
prepared for you on a handmade smoker nestled in the canyon wall is
included.)
