Black Hills Gold
Harper's Weekly, in its front page story on August 12, 1876, reported gold was discovered in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
This discovery inspired the famous phrase "thar's gold in them thar hills" prompting the 'Gold Rush of '76. Now you can strike it rich just like the prospectors! Black Hills Gold is unique as the veined pink and green leaves form the centerpiece around which the jewelry is designed. Each piece is individually hand crafted by over 30 skilled artisans who are involved in the 10 creative steps from casting through to final polishing. To be authentic Black Hills Gold each piece must be made of Karat Gold in the Black Hills of South Dakota. This is protected by federal mandate. The majority of the gold used to create Black Hills Gold jewelry is mined at the Homestake Gold Mine in Lead which is the deepest, longest continuously operated gold mine in the western hemisphere!
